Welcome to the Learning Circle! In this worldwide classroom, we will discover together that children have rights that should apply everywhere in the world.

The right to a safe and loving home, where you can go to a good school, the right to live in a safe community where there is freedom to follow your dreams and much more... to be able to have a good and happy life.


In 1989, the United Nations set up The Convention on the Rights of the Child. During this convention, 195 countries made the agreement that children's rights should apply whenever and wherever, but this isn't as simple as it might seem. 
Luckily, more and more people find it important to fight for the rights of children. You can do that too, by raising awareness and showing that every child deserves a good future. 



In this Learning Circle, you can share your experiences, stories and opinions. We invite you all to learn and work together to make the world a better place.

NEWSLETTER Monday May 23 (week 16)

 

Hello everyone,

 

We are starting the last week of this learning experience!  at the same time Challenge 2 results from Lyseum  de Grundel are still missing. Time to use all your efforts to finalize and finish the Learning Circle successfully:

In the 
feedback schedule you'll find the schools that are waiting for your comments. All participants are pleased to see your reactions to the groups in your Circle. Also consider the possibility to have a Skype meeting; on this page you can read how to connect to the other participants.

 

peerScholar:
The third peerScholar phase ends this Friday 27; students will reflect on the feedback received and revise their letter to the jury of the Global Teenager project in peerScholar. The best 3 letters will be published in every wiki!

Completion & Evaluation:
This is also the last week for this phase. You can work on the same assignment (letter to the jury of GTP) until May 27 as a group and add it to your school page. 

You are asked:

 

  • To write a letter, with your group, to the jury of the Global Teenager Project, in which you present a plan to improve a children's right. You can also use this assignment to talk about some 'eye-openers' you came across in the last months.
  • We would also like to receive your feedback: What went really well and what could we improve on? 
    We are very curious to hear your tips and tops; this will help us to prepare the Circles in the future.

A school for Nepal

All children are entitled to education in a safe school. 

During the Learning Circle we will discover the current state of the Rights of the Child; and we can also DO something ourselves to improve the living conditions of our peers.

The building team of Maya Foundation, with Dutch and Nepalese builders need our help. You may want to think with your classmates and friends how you can contribute to the rebuilding of this school. You will get to know about the school and some of the students in the wiki. As an optional activity you may want to help by taking action and organize some fundraising to help Sajita, Bikash and Birsha get back their school. Every little bit helps!
 

We are looking forward to see your ideas in the 'Nepal Wiki'.
